The festival provides a venue for young artists to showcase their talent and get the attention of the industry deal makers. The summer of 2014 brought in two successful movies, Paramount Pictures Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Teenage Ninja Turtle pocketed more than $120 million in the U.S. and Canada within the first 11 days of screening. This success is mainly due to kids who are at home during the summer. This is why 2014 summer releases were jam packed. Among movies successfully released includes Godzilla which raked in $93 million within the weekend following the opening in May and X-Men: Days of Future Past which came in the following weekend took the helm and earned $90 million. Maleficent followed them the next weekend and grossed more than $68 million. By late July, Transformers: Age of Extinction which opened in late June earned more than $243 million in total ticket sales. All these summer blockbusters are expected to do exceptionally well in other countries.

Summer releases traditionally crowd the season and more and more studios are advancing release dates earlier to avoid other known movie releases basically extending the summer forward. One big problem for movie makers is dwindling numbers of teenagers going to movies. Data indicates that this group dropped by more than 17 percent in year 2013.

Know Your Guests

Looking for a reliable catering company can be a tedious task for those people who have only begun organizing their own parties. Most of the time, professional organizers have a prepared list of companies that can prepare the proper food depending on the occasion. Whether it is office parties, small family gatherings or even large wedding receptions, a caterer can probably provide the necessary food and service for any occasion. One can search online for catering Los Angeles, or catering Orange County, for possible quotations on the matter.

Budget also has to be taken into account, the higher end companies tend to charge much more, but provide a better quality service than those who charge cheap but tend to cut corners. The trick is to find the right balance for your application. Formal events demand a higher quality especially when you’re looking to make an impact on your guests.

There’s also the problem of your guests possible allergies. It’s more than likely that a small percentage of your guests have allergies to seafood or peanuts or a certain kind of meat. Cultural background must also be taken into account, people that come from India regard the cow as a sacred animal and must never be eaten, Muslims on the other hand think that pigs should not be eaten according to their religion.

There are a lot of factors that can come into play when you’re organizing an event, a proper catering company can take into account these possibilities and make sure to prepare accordingly.

Uncovering the box office

Dictionary explain box office as “a place at a theater or other arts establishment where tickets are bought or reserved.” As a result, the term box office is closely associated with the film industry and many use it to indicate how many tickets are sold for a movie or a theater production. So, it is more than a hole in the window or a kiosk inside a theater. Some claim that the practice started in 1786 with a theater production.

Box office, whether it is good or bad can influence the success or failure of a film or a theater production. It indicates the number of people seen the film or the production or the amount of money collected from ticket sales. This is why movie capital Hollywood pays close attention to box office.

Traditionally, weekly box office figures are taken from Friday through Thursday. They are published for domestic meaning U.S. and Canadian and foreign meaning all other countries. Major portion of this include the weekend box office meaning Friday through Sunday collection, a barometer that many uses to gauge the success of a film. Approximately one half of the revenue generated from a film goes to the distributor and the other half going to the movie theater.

One of the biggest complaints that people have with traditional radio is how restrictive it can be to finding new music. When you’re listening to free online radio though, things are completely different. Music on the internet has very few of the same restrictions that other radio platforms have. DJs from around the world can play what they want, when they want, without having to go through all of the official channels to get permission to play a certain song for fear of being fined. Internet radio has opened up a lot of avenues for music discovery. Are you taking advantage of all of them?

When you first venture into the world of internet radio, it may be hard to start finding stations to listen to. Sure, you know what type of music you want to listen to, but do you know where to find it. Many sites have come along in recent years to try and gather a comprehensive list of all of the internet radio stations on the web and make them searchable in one location.

One such company that does this is Online Radio Stations. They’ve taken the concept of free internet radio and magnified it so that you’re not hunting through Google or Yahoo just to try and find something to listen to. You’re able to click on a genre that interests you and get started listening to the radio online in no time at all. You can fly through a number of different stations and musical styles without having to flip through a dial like you would if you were sitting in your car or listening to traditional FM radio in any other way.
