Once again a seemingly good and solid Hollywood marriage is over. Courtney Cox and David Arquette announced that after 11, seemingly perfect, years the couple is going their separate ways. The split is somewhat of a shock as there were no public fights, no infidelities, drug issues… in short, none of the usual reasons why celebrity marriages fail.
According to the statement released by the couple it appears to be a “simple” decision of going their separate ways because they are no longer interested in being together. It also implies that the couple has been trying out a trial separation for some time now and has reached some sort of closure due to it. David, seems to be in two minds though. He admits to sleeping with at least two women (a hot blonde Australian, as he described one of them) during the separation period but still claims that he is in love with the former Friends star. He made these revelations on his friend Howard Stern’s show, much to the disgust of many.
Most listeners thought he was a little crazy to be bragging about sleeping with other women and claiming to be in love with his soon to be ex-wife. He went on air again with Stern and on “Live With Regis and Kelly” because he wanted to clear the fact that he hadn’t cheated on Courtney during their 11 year marriage. But as one viewer pointed out, until the divorce is final whatever David does with another woman is technically cheating.
