Cooking with Chef Ramsey

Special thanks to Aaron Parker for the guest post

Cooking is such great fun. Sometimes it’s fun to have friends over and just have a cooking party. Everybody bring a dish and all of you put it together. It’s nice to see what kind of meal you can come up with especially when you have no clue what the other person is going to bring.

I like to watch cooking shows. I love to learn new ways to cook my food and try new stuff. It’s nice to know you have a wide variety of cooking shows to choose from on Satellite TV. There are hundreds of channels to choose from as well as hundreds of people.

One of my all time favorites is Chef Ramsey. I not only love to hear this man talk, or yell, but I love to watch him tell the want to be chefs how to make something. His way of cooking is so much different from mine but the show is still a lot of fun to watch.

I have a lot of cook books but it’s still interesting to watch the cooking shows live on TV. You can actually see what is going on and if you like, make the dish right along with the chefs. There is really no better way to learn how to cook than watching it live on TV, or you can use a satellite tv dvr to record it so you can cook along with the chef and pause whenever necessary. Simple, easy, and fun.

End of an Era for Miley

This year, Miley Cyrus will say goodbye to her alter ego “Hannah Montana” as the show draws to a close. It appears to be according to Miley’s wishes, as the star is eager to move on to bigger and better things.

Four years ago a relative nobody made her debut on the comedy series along with her (somewhat washed up) father. Since then Miley’s career in music has skyrocketed and the star has released three very successful albums. She has also starred in a movie, “The Last song”, and is looking forward to her role opposite Demi Moore in the indie flick “LOL”. Even Billy Ray Cyrus owes the revival of his career to the show. The Country Music star is getting ready for an album release later this year as well as a tour plan.

Neither is leaving the show with bad feelings; in fact their intention is to move on to bigger and better things. Miley stated that she can’t keep doing material for six year olds as her focus has shifted to a much (relatively) older audience. In fact “LOL” is as far from a “Hannah Montana” audience as it can get. But the star wanted to have some closure and felt that the fans deserved it too, hence the agreement to do a final season.
The final season of “Hannah Montana” will feature lots of surprises and guests. New cast members include a horse and guests include Jay Leno, Dr. Phil McGraw, Sheryl Crowe, Christine Taylor and Kelly Ripa.

Genres of Gospel Music

Christian music has evolved into a billion dollar industry ever since the explosion of contemporary music that has imbibed sounds that resonates with regular pop and rock music in the mainstream music scene today.

Not only has the way people view devotional music changed, with these developments, but the medium by which one can listen to this kind of music has evolved too. Of course, with the internet finding more and more relevance to our lives just by the clicking of a few buttons, more and more people are taking a fancy to the multimedia offerings that the World Wide Web has in store for them and specifically in the form of online music that is available for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Not only do they play the latest songs that have been released by Christian artists but they also play music that some people cannot get a hold of in countries outside the United States. However, with the huge audience that is available over the internet, it also bodes well for promotional activity for these artists as well.

In the broader genre of gospel music, there are several subgenres that have evolved over the last few decades. With Black Gospel and Praise & Worship music being music that has the traditional tag, Christian Rock, Pop, and Rap that obviously appeals to a younger generation have also found their way onto online radio, and is here to stay.

So, not only does the listener get to listen to their kind of music but are also encouraged to experiment with other types of music that fall within their area of interests.

US & UK Tie 1-1 in World Cup Match

In one of the most anticipated games of this year’s World Cup, USA and England tied 1-1. The first goal for England came on the 4th minute. The US goal came in the 40th minute and it was due to a simple mistake by the Birtish golie Rob Green, who seemed to have a handle on a shot from Clint Dampsey from outside the box. However, the ball sliped his hand in a very embarrassing fashion and entered the goal. This sure is going to be one of Rob Green’s worst moments of his life and one that he will not forget.
US and England both still have a chance to proceed to the next round.

A Quick fix for Lost-aholics?

“Lost” has left a gaping hole for the networks and everybody is scrambling to plug the hole. The current strongest contender for the role of the plug is “Persons Unknown”. The series is penned by Christopher McQuarrie of “Usual Suspects” fame and so far looks “pretty good”.

The plot is as follows: A young mother from San Francisco is kidnapped and wakes up to find herself locked up in a hotel. The Downtown Hotel is located in a deserted location surrounded by mountains. She suddenly finds herself in the company of six others who also have no clue of what is going on. At the beginning there appear to be no connections between the members of the group and there are suspicions that someone may know more than they are letting on. Add to this that one of them may be a mole, security cameras and the fact that none of them can leave the hotel and you’ve got yourself a nice juicy “Lost”-like mystery on your hands. Oh, a night manager for the hotel and some Chinese cooks also turn up for work in the middle of all this.

Hopefully, the writers have thought this thing through like the writers of “Lost” did. Otherwise this series could go down the tubes faster than Paris Hilton’s singing career. The series is nicely poised with a lot of weirdness, intrigue and foreboding. Hopefully with some good ratings, we can actually get some answers to the questions that have been so very interestingly set up.

Music Appreciation Online Class

This is a guest post from Daniel Horne

I had to take more elective classes for school one semester and there were a variety of online classes to choose. Since I have never taken an online class before and it was only an elective, I was willing to give it a shot. I signed up for Music Appreciation. I have always had an appreciation for music, what I heard on the radio anyways, and figured this class would be an easy A and help boost my grade point average. Boy was I wrong. The whole class started out bad. I could not get to the website I needed. After I found that, I couldn’t watch any of the videos that the instructor had posted. They would just stop in the middle and never start back up again. I called my instructor who informed me that it was most likely my internet connection. I told him that it shouldn’t be a problem because I had cable internet and he suggested that I give hughs net a try. That afternoon I called hughes in SC and the next day had satellite internet installed in my apartment. Since then I have always been able to watch the course required movies. I have had no trouble uploading and downloading files and while I wasn’t right about this class being an easy A, it is easier now that I can access the material properly.
